Bootsie Barnes, Lisa Chavous and Skip Denenberg perform in Media's 16th Annual Jazz By Night Festival
Like your food served with a generous portion of hot jazz?  Then Media's the place to be on Saturday Nov 17th - when the region's top jazz acts will perform on 19 different stages all over town, including more than a dozen restaurants and bars where tasty food will be served alongside talented artists like Bootsie Barnes, Lisa Chavous and Skip Denenberg.

This year's Jazz By Night Festival is dedicated to the memory of Aretha Franklin and Philly's own legendary jazz vocalist and drummer, Don Gardner.

Media's growing jazz scene lures  hundreds of people to restaurants and bars all over town...creating 6-8 blocks of everything tasty, hip and musically exciting!

About Don Gardner...
Don was an internationally recognized singer, songwriter and drummer, who worked with some of the greatest singers of his time, such as Curtis Mayfield. and George Benson.  With keyboardist Dee Dee Ford, he hit the R&B charts in the early 60s with hits such as “Glory of Love,” “Don’t You Worry” and “Need Your Lovin.”  In the 70s he teamed up with Baby Washington for their hit, “Lay A Little Lovin’ On Me”.  He continued to perform as a solo artist and remained in music as an artist and repertoire (A&R) manager and nightclub owner into the 1980s, working with greats like Dinah Washington and Count Basie.
