As summer winds down, let Dvorak's Serenades whisk you into the vibrancy of fall with colorful Czeck folk music!

The Delaware County Symphony (DCS) present its first chamber concert of the 2018-2019 season on Sunday, September 23rd, featuring two elegant works by Czech composer Antonin Dvořák.

The concert begins with Serenade for Winds...
Composed in 1878 the work shares the creative genius of Dvořák who in this piece elegantly captures the fusion of classical restraint and the high energy and passion of Czech folk music.

...and concludes with Serenade for Strings
This composition offers insight into the soul of Czech music with flowing melodies, tender phrases and emotional optimism. Thought to have been composed in just two weeks in May of 1875, it remains one of the composer's most popular orchestral works to this day.

Tickets are $15 or $12 for seniors/students. Children under 12 (one child per paying adult) are admitted free. Upon presentation of the Delaware County or Montgomery County Library card two tickets may be purchased for the price of one regular admission ticket the day of the concert.
