The hottest tickets in town this summer say Upper Darby Performing Arts Center!  Harry Dietzler, Creative and Executive Director of the Center, has produced one of the most successful and popular Summer Theater Programs in the tri-state area.  Seven exciting family shows will open during the six weeks between July 3rd and August 10th, and more than 34,000 tickets will be sold. 

So get yours now, because this could be their biggest summer yet! Recently recognized as "The Most Loved Place to Go in the Philadelphia Region," the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center (UDPAC) can turn an ordinary summer into a show-stopper!

The Mainstage production at Summer Stage is the pinnacle of the season featuring adult performers (ages 18 – 28) in a full scale, Broadway style production with a live orchestra. 

This year they are presenting the Tony Award-Winning Musical 42nd Street! 
This is the ultimate show-biz musical that celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the people who make the magic of American musical theater. Hear some of the greatest songs ever written, such as “We’re In The Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” "Shuffle Off To Buffalo,” and “42nd Street.” Performances are July 27, July 28, August 3,  and August 4 at 7:30 pm, with a matinee on August 4 at 1:30 pm.

Upper Darby's Summer Stage is also presenting six, one-hour long children’s theater musicals including THREE DISNEY SHOWS!

  • The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr. - July 3 to July 6
  • Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. - July 11 to July 13
  • Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. - July 18 to July 20
  • Freckleface Strawberry, The Musical - July 25 to July 27
  • A Year with Frog and Toad - August 1 to August 3
  • Disney’s Mary Poppins, Jr. - August 7 - August 10
These shows are ideal for ages four and up and are approximately sixty minutes long.

The Shooting Stars Song & Dance Troupe features 36 high energy performers who bring the house down at events all over the East Coast.
From the Longwood Gardens Christmas Special on NBC 10 to the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, DC, and Disney World, this troupe never fails to earn standing ovations!

Founder and Executive Director, Harry Dietzler received the Barrymore Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts and in 2016 he received an Honorable Mention in the Tony Awards' Excellence in Theater Education category -- making him the only theater teacher in the state of Pennsylvania to be recognized out of a field of over 3,000 applicants.
