The heartbeat of every community is found in its passion for the arts...its preservation of nature...and its appreciation of history.

We hope everyone reading this will put the 'fun' in fundraising this month by supporting three events that will keep our community and tourism industry thriving for years to come!

SUPPORT YOUR PASSION FOR THE ARTS, with an Annual Plant & Yard Sale to benefit the Delaware County Symphony (DCS) on Saturday, June 2nd from 9am to 3pm.

It is their largest and most important fundraiser of the year and offers you the chance to purchase beautiful hybrid day lilies and other stunning plants grown by local horticulturists.  You'll find popular and unusual perennial plants such as Lenten rose, dahlias, Soloman's seal, iris, woodland poppies, bleeding heart plants (like the one pictured at the top of this story), bright blue lungworts, hostas, and many other varieties - as well  as find recycled treasures donated by members and friends of the orchestra.  The sale will be held at the home of Barbara and Arnold Ostroff, 401 Conard Drive in Springfield, PA, 19064, just one-half mile from the Blue Route (I-476),

SUSTAIN LOCAL HISTORY by attending the Newlin Grist Mill's Annual "Grains of the World Dinner," Saturday, June 23rd from 6 to 8pm.
Taste two thousand years of global cuisine with a multi-course meal, including a selection of breads, dessert sampler, and specially-selected beverages.  This tasty fundraising event supports the rebuilding of the Mill's waterwheel, which powers the working 1704 Newlin Grist Mill.  Founded by the Newlin Family who settled here in 1683, the Mill's 160-acre park is committed to historical and environmental preservation and education.  It features 8 hiking trails, fishing, photography, special educational series, a Blacksmith shop and the Dabbs Woodfin Research Archives.  PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRE. Cost: $50 per person.  Must be 21 or older to attend.

219  Cheyney Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342.

PRESERVE ONE OF OUR MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES by attending the annual "Tyler at Twilight" Summer Gala on Thursday, June 14th, from 6 to 10pm.
Tyler is an extraordinary arboretum with a history stretching back to 1681.  To understand its impact you need to experience it first-hand. One of their visitors posted on TripAdvisor, that Tyler is " An extraordinary...arboretum where human hands have created a magnificent garden with a very light touch...with undulating landscape, whimsy, sweeps of trees and plants and enigmatic nooks and crannies everywhere.  Perfect for children, parents, fuddy-duddies, artists, wanderers, seekers of beauty and solitude."

Contribute to the future of Tyler with friends, fine food, wonderful wine, and exciting auction items.  Individual tickets are $100 each. A table of ten is $1,400. Proceeds benefit their education programs and stewardship of Tyler's 650 acres and 17 miles of trails.
