My Dad liked to win.  Even the backyard baseball games with my 7, 9 and 13-year-old team-mates!  If that sounds like your dad, here are 3 winning ways to help him celebrate...

Hide his tropical shirt, his rake and the remote.  Give him a few dollars and send him to Harrah's Philadelphia on the riverside where he'll find one of the largest collections of table games in the region including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat and more.

  • If he's a tactician he may prefer the strategy of blackjack.  If he's a man of action, craps may be his forte!  Either way, he’ll find all the thrills he could ask for at their gaming tables.   Table Games at Harrah's Philadelphia
  • If you give him a little extra cash for dinner, he can choose great steaks at The Cove or a famous Fieri Burger at Guy's popular restaurant.
  • If dad is more of an outdoors-man, he can also head outside for live harness racing every Wed-Sun.  Harrah’s Racetrack boasts one of the fastest 5/8 mile horse racing surfaces anywhere and a first-of-its-kind miracle turn that extends over the Delaware River (pictured above) with a specially constructed bridge.  Click here for days and post times

The American Helicopter Museum celebrates Dad with their annual FatherFest on Sunday, June 17th

This event is the perfect family affair with lots to see and do, including a beer garden, car show and kid's games, so tag along and make some high-flying memories together.

Consider starting with an actual helicopter ride (for an additional cost), offered 10am-3pm.  Then tour the museum where more than 30 vintage helos are on display.

This year’s theme is “Celebrate the Wonder of Flight,” and their aircraft lineup doesn’t disappoint. See Dr. Stanley Blazejewski’s Magni M-16 Gyrocopter, and awaiting confirmation are Atlantic City Coast Guard Flotilla, MetroAviation, JeffSTAT, PennSTAR and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Adding to the “Flight” theme are birds of prey demonstrations and exhibitions from Mike Dupuy Falconry and The Falconry Girl, Sean Young.
  • Food Trucks:  Zac's Burger, Dos Gringos Mexican Kitchen, Haute Wheels and The Tot Cart
  • Malvern’s Locust Lane Brewery’s Beer Garden
  • Kona Ice’s cold, sweet treats
  • DJ music by Full Moon
  • See Larry Smythe’s M.A.S.H. military collection
  • Check out the Dogs from Paws for People™ Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services
