  • Their 2016 NCAA Championship, is referred to as "The Perfect Ending" and is the only NCAA Men's Championship game to be won on a buzzer beating 3 pointer by Kris Jenkins
  • They have won the Big East regular season championship 8 times, most recently winning 4 straight from 2014–2017.
  • Villanova entered the 2016–2017 season with an all-time winning percentage of (.648), placing the Wildcats tied for 13th among all NCAA Division I basketball programs.
