Every October Newtown Square hosts a hugely popular Family Day at Drexel Lodge, a beautiful township park that is also home to the Newtown Square Railroad Museum - one of the only train museums in the region.

There's no admission charge - so there's no reason to miss a chance to see your children's eyes light up as they grab the bar and hoist themselves up the steps into a world of Polar Express-like imagination...climbing aboard life-sized box cars and the black monster engine pictured above!

Kids who love  trains will never forget
this experience!... just make sure they
leave the suitcase at home!
Take a tour through the 1895 PRR Freight Station, the 1907 Wooden Passenger car and the 1950 caboose!

And that's not all!
The Railroad Museum building houses a rare collection of signs, model trains, plus historic tools and artifacts from the historic birth of the Main Line.  There are books and old articles with fascinating tales of Delco's earliest railroad days.

Plus an Antique Car Show & Mini-railroad for children to ride on!

  • Drawings for door prizes
  • An antique car display
  • Artisan vendors and Farmers
  • And local businesses and clubs with sales and demos

Great food, live music and boundless kids' activities round out a fun-filled day in Newtown Square.
