One of the most popular art events of the year is the Wayne Art Center's Annual Plein Air Festival which runs from May 14th through June 25th.
Forgoing the comforts of an indoor studio, Plein Air artists do their creating outdoors, capturing the spirit and essence of a landscape or other subject by recreating natural light, color and movement into the pieces.

(This type of art also runs a higher risk of ruin, should it rain, or should birds in the sky leave unexpected gifts behind :)

Painting by T. Allen Lawson
This year, thirty of today's foremost plein air artists from all over the country will be wielding paintbrushes in our meadows, on our town streets and at local historic and garden attractions within a 20 mile radius of the Wayne Art Center.

The artist's work will be on display and available for sale in the Wayne Art Center from May 14 through June 25.
