Saturday, April 23rd...Bring the family to the Plantation at Ridley Creek State Park and see three rare breed sheep lose their fleece!

Margaret Quinn, a master shearer, will explain how the shearing is done and will then demonstrate by using hand clippers.  You'll learn how to care for sheep, their diet, and the advantages of various breeds.

Visitors will be able to card wool. Just guessing you've never done that before!
There will be house tours plus demonstrations of hearth cooking, gardening, and farm life.
  • Shearing Demonstrations at 12:30 PM & 2:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Admission is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for children ages 4 to 12.
  • Children under age 4 are free.

OR -- if shearing sheep is a little wild and woolly for your taste...
