Most places with a great view, cost a pretty penny - but Delco's riverfront parks offer a million dollar view for free!

Governor Printz Park in Essington is one of Delco's hidden treasures. Some people come alone to read, paint or simply soak up the river vibe with a cup of coffee.

Others bring family or friends, to share a blanket and good conversation...or to enjoy a picnic...toss a football...or play some outdoor games.

And frankly, what could be better than whiling away a few hours in the sunshine with a friend or loved one?

Interesting Note:

This gorgeous little gem was named after Johan Printz who became the first royal governor of New Sweden in 1642. He not only had a big personality...he was larger than life... 7 foot tall and 400 lbs larger!  A copy of the painting shown here is housed at the Swedish Colonial Society, Gloria Dei, Old Swedes’ Church in Philadelphia.
